Saperavi is the grape Georgia is built on. The name literally means paint, which tells you everything you need to know about the colour. It is so dark it almost looks black in the glass. The Solo version is Tiko Estate's way of showing you the grape without distraction: no oak, no complexity added from outside, just the fruit from 20-year-old vines spending nearly a year in tank before bottling. Dark cherries, blackcurrants, a grip that makes you want food and a depth that makes you want another glass. The most honest introduction to what Georgian red wine is.
