Sancerre is famous for its white wine. But Bertrand Riffault makes a rosé that deserves just as much attention.
Made from Pinot Noir grown on steep slopes in Verdigny, vinified in stainless steel and aged for just three months to preserve every bit of freshness the vintage has to offer. The result is a rosé that is pale, precise and alive. Fresh peach and strawberry on the nose with a delicate mineral note underneath that tells you exactly where this wine comes from.
On the palate it is crisp and lively, with citrus, red fruit and a lemony finish that makes your mouth water and your hand reach for the bottle again. Dry, refreshing and with the kind of acidity that only Sancerre can deliver.
This is a rosé for people who take rosé seriously. And for people who do not, it will change that.
Pair it with lamb, poultry, salmon or a good soft cheese. Or open it on a warm evening and let it speak for itself.
