Blaufrankisch may have originated right here in Slovenia. DNA research suggests this grape, one of Central Europe's most important red varieties, has its roots in Lower Styria. Kobal's Roots version is made with spontaneous fermentation, hand punchdown maceration in classic wooden casks for 14 to 20 days, aged in oak barrels for 8 months, and bottled unfiltered.

Plum marmalade, sour cherry and dark forest fruit on the nose with blackberries and chocolate from oak maturation. Dark ruby colour with a velvety rich aftertaste. Decant before drinking. This wine needs air to open up and show everything it has.
