The easiest introduction to Philippe Germain and everything good about Burgundy.
Le Freinetard is named after a parcel of land in Nantoux, the tiny village where the Germain family has been making wine since 1962. Coteaux Bourguignons is the broadest appellation in Burgundy, which means this wine is made for drinking, not for overthinking. At 12% it is light, fresh and exactly the kind of bottle you want in the fridge on a warm evening.
Fresh apple, citrus blossom and a light floral note on the nose with a hint of white peach. On the palate it is clean and easy, with gentle acidity and a finish that makes you reach for another glass without ceremony.
Open it as an aperitif, alongside a salad, light fish or a plate of charcuterie. Or just pour it and enjoy the simplest pleasure in wine: a cold glass of Chardonnay from Burgundy.
