Couldn't load pickup availability
The Hautes Cotes de Beaune Blanc from Domaine Philippe Germain comes from vineyards perched on the rolling hills above Pommard, five kilometres above the Cote de Beaune in Nantoux. Grapes grown at altitude retain freshness and acidity in a way the valley floor cannot always deliver. The result is a Chardonnay that punches well above its appellation.
White flowers, ripe pear and orchard fruit on the nose with a delicate hint of vanilla and brioche that comes from eight to ten months of oak ageing. On the palate it is suave and creamy, with ripe apple and citrus gliding over a silky texture and a gentle mineral finish that tells you exactly where this wine is from.
Accessible now and only getting better over the next few years. Pair it with roast chicken, creamy pasta, grilled fish or a good goat cheese.
